John Majoris

Founder

John received his first film camera, a 35 mm Konica Autoreflec TC, when he was a teenager. Right away he knew what he wanted to do with his life, and before long he’d converted a bathroom in his basement to a darkroom and started developing B&W photographs.

John’s passion for all things flying led to him take flying lessons in 1995, and he earned his private pilot’s license in 1996. He  went on to earn his commercial pilot certificate, which opened up the skies for him by allowing him to fly professionally.

In 1999 John combined his two passions and started Aerial Photos of NJ. He didn’t know anything about the aerial photography business at the time, so he decided to attend a Professional Aerial Photographers Association convention in Vegas.

His goal was to see firsthand if anyone could actually make a good living at aerial photography, and he was pleasantly surprised to find himself amongst a room full of professional aerial photographers who owned very successful businesses.

From that point on, he was all in.

John credits the members of the Professional Aerial Photographers Association with helping him get his business up and running.

Their educational events were instrumental in giving him the ability to grow his busines, and in a little over a year he had enough business to buy his first aircraft, a 1975 Cessna Cardinal, which he fly’s to this day.

Cliff Compton

Chief Pilot & Lead Photographer

Cliff graduated from The Rochester Institute of Technology in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Photography. He’s been a professional photographer ever since.

Along the way Cliff pursued his interest in flying and started flight training. He received his private pilot’s license in 1999.

Cliff continued his aviation training at Flight Safety International in Vero Beach Fl where he went on to acquire his Commercial Multi Engine Instrument rating and his Commercial Flight Instructor certificate.

Cliff joined Aerial Photos of NJ in 2005
